**Back in November 2017, we wrote about a temporary solution for a discrepancy with the nutrition labels found in our Living a Healthy Life books. Please ensure that as of 4/1/2018, you are following the instructions found in this post**
As you may be aware, the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) has released new nutrition label guidelines. Due to this change, newer versions of the Living a Healthy Life book (4th ed.) have different labels than those that were printed earlier. This may have led to confusion for some during the label reading activity:
For Take Charge of Your Health this takes place in Session 5, Activity 2 (Making Healthy Food Choices)
For Take Charge of Your Diabetes this takes place in Session 4, Activity 3 (Food Choices - Putting It All Together)
The SMRC has asked that during these activities we no longer refer participants to read along in their books. Instead, facilitators should provide participants with a nutrition label handout. The SMRC has updated the corresponding pages in your facilitator manual so that you can conduct this activity smoothly and with the most up to date information. All you must do is print out the new pages and replace the old ones in your manual.

Note for Master Trainers: The SMRC has stated that they will not be updating the cross-training or Master Trainer manuals with these pages. You should use the pages from the Leader’s Manuals.
